It's official — spring is here. Oh, wait: we call it mud season! If all goes well and the current legislative session doesn't get mired down, it should wrap up mid-June.

The League of Women Voters of Maine has endorsed Ranked Choice Voting (RCV) since 2011, and now we're in a new age where Maine municipalities can choose to adopt it for their local elections!

Last November, voters chose to adopt Clean Elections in Portland. This Charter modification will take effect on July 1, 2023 in time for the November 2023 election.

Our voting rights are under threat. Yesterday, three Maine legislators held a press conference to promote their "election integrity" bills, but this harmful legislation will erode our freedom to vote by creating more barriers.
